Africa Day 2026 is around the corner! We're looking for a team of enthousiastic volunteers to help us on Saturday the 21st of November, as we fill Pakhuis de Zwijger with the sounds of deep conversations, inspiring workshops, swinging music and a colourful market.
The theme at the heart of this year's Africa Day is The Future is Here. We'll be focusing on the thought that Africa's future is not a distant promise, but a reality being shaped in the present. As with previous editions, there will be a diverse range of workshops, lectures, engaging debates, and conversations. But: we can only make this fantastic day a success with your help!
What will you do?
As a volunteer you'll be in the midst of the hubbub, from welcoming the first guests at the door to the last round of applause. Think of tasks like receiving arriving guests and helping them find their way, supporting speakers and moderators, helping with the market, or lending a hand to the technical- and logistical teams. You'll receive a clear task and instructions before the day starts, and will work in a small, gezellig team.
What do we offer?
You'll have front-row seats to the programme, get to meet and work with speakers and other volunteers, and get a peek into the behind-the-scenes of a big event whilst also getting to catch the sessions themselves. Of course, we'll also provide a delicious African lunch and a well-deserved drink afterwards, compensate you for your travel costs, and you'll be free to participate in sessions when you're not working.
