Ambassador Ebrahim Rasool speaks on Africa’s role in the world of tomorrow
We are honored to welcome Ambassador Ebrahim Rasool as the keynote speaker at Afrikadag 2025. A lifelong advocate for justice, Ambassador Rasool played a key role in the anti-apartheid movement, served as Premier of the Western Cape, and as South Africa’s Ambassador to the United States, while also holding various other diplomatic and political positions. His work bridges politics, faith, and activism, always driven by a deep commitment to equality, social justice, and African sovereignty.
In recent years, Ambassador Rasool has sparked international debate with his sharp reflections on power, morality, and the shifting global order. At Afrikadag, he will bring that same critical lens to our theme “The New Global Order”, exploring Africa’s growing influence, why fairer partnerships are essential, and what true global solidarity could look like in the decades ahead. Rasool will also share insights from his experience as a policymaker, diplomat, and public thinker.
