Saturday the 18th of November, the annual Africa Day takes place at Pakhuis de Zwijger in Amsterdam! For 25 years, this has been the main event about Africa in the Netherlands. A day packed with workshops, debates, lectures and culture. For example, a discussion on oil pollution in Uganda with Ugandan climate activist Hilda Flavia Nakabuye, an election debate between candidates for the upcoming Tweede Kamer (House of Representatives) elections, a literature programme by Boekhandel Athenaeum, and much more. The day concludes with a live music performance and a film screening.

Welcoming hundreds of visitors, 20 programmes and speakers from both here and abroad, Africa Day is the biggest event on Africa and international cooperation in the Netherlands. For this reason, this day cannot be organised without the help of enthusiastic volunteers.

Would you like to experience what it is like to help in the organisation of a large-scale event? Then sign up here as a volunteer!

As a volunteer, you will receive lunch and dinner from us at Africa Day.
