Saturday the 18th of November, the annual Africa Day is back! For 25 years, this has been the main event about Africa in the Netherlands. A day packed with workshops, debates, lectures, literature, films, music, a fashion show, and much more! Order your tickets now!

This year, Africa Day revolves around one main theme in particular: climate justice. People all over the world are struggling due to climate change, the greatest challenge of our time. But nowhere is the challenge greater than in African countries, despite not being a major contributor. Therefore, a broad movement demands fair climate policies.

On the 18th of November, exactly that is the main topic at Pakhuis de Zwijger in Amsterdam. For example, a discussion on oil pollution in the Niger Delta, an election debate between candidates for the upcoming Tweede Kamer (House of Representatives) elections, a discussion between Dutch and African trade unions, speeches by climate activists, literature programmes by Boekhandel Athenaeum and Stichting El Hizjra, and much more.

With climate activist Hilda Flavia Nakabuye of Fridays for Future Uganda, writer and journalist Babah Tarawally, MEP Mohammed Chahim, former minister Jan Pronk, and many others.
