Afrikadag is back on November 16th 2024!

For 25 years, the Afrikadag (Africa Day) has been the largest public event on Africa and international cooperation in the Netherlands, with more than 600 visitors, speakers, volunteers and 40 partner organisations. The day consists of workshops, lectures, talks, films, and music. With the event, we want to provide a stage for African voices and start conversations between citizens, politicians and NGOs about new cooperation between Africa and Europe based on equality.

The afrikadag 2024 will be in Pakhuis de Zwijger in Amsterdam on November 16th! This edition of Afrikadag is all about the theme " Getting Rights Right" and aims to shed light on movements on the African continent that defend human rights and democratic values. Challenges related to aims of improving progressive and democratic values while being cautious of western neocolonialism will be topic of discussion. African voices who advocate for human rights are central to Afrikadag 2024. Aside from shedding light on societal and political challenges with input from politicians, policy makers and activists, the day offers an experience of African culture, music, movies and food.
